Animal Health Disinfection
Endoparasites, like roundworms (Ascaris suum, Heterakis) and coccidia (Isospora suis, Eimeria tenella, Cryptosporidium parvum), infect the internal organs of livestock and poultry and cause considerable economic losses in animal husbandry.
Roundworms and coccidia are very resistant to conventional disinfectants. Coccidia oocysts, for example, are protected by a thick and complex shell-like structure that provides protection from the environment and makes them particularly difficult to destroy.
Our Preventol® CMK and Preventol® O extra are proven to be effective* against endoparasites. Disinfectant concentrates containing these actives can be specifically formulated to penetrate and destroy coccidia oocysts. Therefore enabling livestock and poultry producers to break the chain of infection from one production cycle to the next.
LANXESS also offer a final disinfectant product, Preventol® CD 601* as a frame formulation for animal housing applications.
- Preventol® CD 601* is an acidic disinfectant concentrate designed for surface disinfection in animal housing as well as in hospitals, industrial and institutional (I&I) areas.
- The product contains three active substances:
- Preventol® CMK (p-chloro-m-cresol)
- Preventol® O extra (o-phenylphenol) and
- Preventol® GDA 50 (glutaraldehyde)
Active Substances, Preventol® CMK and Preventol® O extra are well known for their efficacy* in the presence of organic matter and for their proven broad-spectrum efficacy* against bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi and enveloped viruses. Preventol® GDA 50 is a complimentary co-biocide in the formulation, boosting effectiveness* against non-enveloped viruses.
